It is with sincere gratitude that I offer this testimony to the healing power of Truth, as revealed in the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In May, 1928, I was suffering from septic poisoning in my left leg. The doctor in attendance had arranged to operate.

As I lay pondering why I had experienced so much ill health during the past few years, my eyes fell upon a copy of The Christian Science Journal which a lady had given to my daughter a few weeks earlier. I opened the book in the hope of reading something which might take my thoughts from the pain I was enduring. I read some of the testimonies of healing. The thought came to me, Why should I not experience the same benefit? I asked my daughter to ask a practitioner (whose name I saw in the Journal) if she would come to see me. This lady came the following morning. She very lovingly explained the truth that God is divine Love and we are His own children, and that He never decreed a law that we should be helpless victims to either sin or disease. This lady advised me to read certain passages from the Bible, and also from the chapter on Prayer in the Christian Science textbook. I read as requested, and a wonderful sense of peace and hope brought healing to my troubled thought. Within two days the leg started to discharge. Exactly one week from the practitioner's first visit it was healed perfectly, and I resumed work. I have had no return of the trouble, although previous to this healing I had had septic poisoning in both arms.

It is in the hope that some other sufferer may be led to the truth that I offer this testimony.
