Giving Thanks

LILLIAN BARKER DURKEE

Giving thanks for blessings brought,
Thus the Truth-awakened thought
Opens wide the proven door
To the Father's bounteous store.

Giving thanks and clinging fast
To the truth, until at last
Sorrow, sickness, fear depart,
Shows the truly grateful heart.

Giving thanks, though sense may say,
Nothing good has come your way,
Will reveal the fact to you,
Nothing but the good is true.
