Recently I experienced a very clear-cut healing at a Christian Science lecture. I had been suffering from a severe pain in the vicinity of the lungs. Every time I turned my body in any way it felt as if I were being cut with a sharp knife, and the argument was strong that I should remain quietly in one position. Through my understanding of Christian Science, however, I had been enabled to be about my usual activities, though with great discomfort. At this lecture, as I followed closely the line of thought presented by the speaker, unconsciously I straightened up and took a deep breath freely—the first in two days. I was healed!

I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her life of loving self-sacrifice in establishing the various departments of the Christian Science movement. Active membership in a branch church and The Mother Church has meant much to me, as has class instruction from a teacher rich in humility and love.
