I began the study of Christian Science over six years ago...
I began the study of Christian Science over six years ago and have experienced many healings. Defective eyesight has been healed. This condition prevailed for ten years, during which time I wore glasses constantly while performing my daily tasks in an office. Artificial light, under which I was working, seemed to weaken my eyes. When I consulted a practitioner about this, she lovingly advised me to study with the thought of learning more about the ever-presence of God, not to study with the thought of ridding myself of a physical defect; and to know that man, as God's idea, is always in his right place, and that therefore artificial light could not harm me.
My healing was complete about one year later. I have not worn glasses since that time, and I am still working under artificial light in the same office. Healing is the result of spiritualized thought. In working out this problem I learned the lesson of abiding by the divine will, rather than following the so-called human will. I am deeply appreciative of the church services and the privileges of the Reading Rooms.
