After hearing and reading many helpful testimonies in...
After hearing and reading many helpful testimonies in our churches and periodicals I am impelled to add a few words of my own experience during the years that I have known and enjoyed the teachings of Christian Science. At the beginning of my study of this truth a relative was completely healed of tuberculosis through reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to a sister who was not able to read. Then other healings followed, one of which was the healing of my mother, when about seventy-five years old, of a severe case of kidney trouble.
About thirty-eight years ago I was suddenly stricken with an attack of uraemic poisoning and other complications. My daughter, a graduate nurse, called a Christian Science practitioner, who came and remained with us for several weeks. The healing seemed slow, but it was finally perfect and permanent. At another time I fell off the top step of a ladder, injuring my knee and back. The knee seemed entirely useless. The verdict was that I should be a cripple for life. There was considerable inflammation and swelling. No bandages or material remedies were used; but through Christian Science treatment the healing was complete. Today, at the age of ninety-two, I am enjoying good health, and can say that God is All-in-all to me.
I think my greatest blessing is in sharing this truth with others. Words fail me when I try to express my gratitude for all that our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has done for me and for all mankind.
