With gratitude for what Christian Science has done for...

With gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me I wish to testify to some of the blessings I have received. Before knowing anything of Christian Science I was sick most of the time. Ever since I can remember I had felt God could heal us if we could understand Him; I held to this ideal continually.

In October, 1914, I was passing through a period of mental agony and despair with cancer in both breasts. It was stated by the physicians that a surgical operation would be necessary, removing both breasts. As surgery had failed four times in other conditions, I was very much discouraged, and thought, Why try surgery again? A friend at this time showed me the way out of darkness into light by giving me a Christian Science Sentinel. After I read the words, "God is Life, Truth, and Love," I decided to try Christian Science. After reading the Sentinel I experienced a sense of peace I had not had before.

I was asked if I should like to have a Christian Science practitioner help me. I said I would, and the next day I had my first treatment in Christian Science. I had slept only a few hours in six weeks. The practitioner explained to me that all space is filled with God, and there is no room for sickness. I went to sleep at night with that thought. I slept all night long and wakened with the same thought the next morning. It was four years before I was healed of the cancer, but during this time I had many beautiful experiences. I was healed of stomach trouble, bowel disorder, and extreme nervousness. When we honestly and earnestly seek God, we find Him; and God never fails. I am grateful for the physical healings and for the spiritual uplifting, and I am grateful to all who have helped me.
