Lecturer: Paul Stark Seeley; introduced by Henry James Tilbury, who said:—

Nearly nineteen years ago a friend of mine purchased at an auction sale a copy of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and together we commenced to examine the statements contained therein, in conjunction with the Bible. We progressed with ever growing wonder, for we found that our entire outlook on life was being remodeled. In the light of the understanding gained, passages of the Bible the meaning of which had previously been obscure and little understood were seen to be pearls "of great price" and gems of rarest beauty. We felt that if what we had read were put into practice, it would indeed lead to freedom and to liberty, for it was a complete, practical, and convincing statement of the truth concerning God, man, and the universe.
