Keep Smiling and Keep Sweet

Keep smiling and keep sweet
No matter how things seem,
They are but error's dream;
And false beliefs retreat,
When dawns the heavenly light
Upon awakened sight.

Keep smiling bravely through
Your lonely wilderness,
For Love is there to bless
Each victory won by you
O'er self and sin and fears;
Smiles drive away the tears.

Keep sweet and love—forgive,
Nor hatred's cross resent,
It hastens your ascent
Until you truly live
Within "the secret place"
Of holy thoughts and grace.

Keep smiling and keep sweet,
For smiles and sweetness heal,
When they God's man reveal
As spiritual, complete.
Keep sweet from day to day;
Keep smiling all the way.
