The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Los Angeles, California (Fifteenth Church).

Lecturer: Frank Bell; introduced by John Geo. Klas, who said:—

I took up the study of Christian Science twenty years ago, and it was a happy event in my life. Just previous to that time I was a student in a theological seminary of a Protestant denomination, but on account of severe stomach trouble was not able to finish my course. My many prayers and material remedies did not relieve the suffering which continually grew worse. When almost at the end of mortal existence Christian Science was presented to me. "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." Treatment was given and my healing began at once; and now I am entirely free from that trouble. Mary Baker Eddy writes on page 296 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "When the evidence of Spirit and matter, Truth and error, seems to commingle, it rests upon foundations which time is wearing away." I am profoundly grateful for having found this beautiful religion which heals by purely spiritual means, and that by it now the comforting promises of the Bible are being fulfilled.
