I became interested in Christian Science over three years...
I became interested in Christian Science over three years ago at a time when I was very much in need of its healing power. For three years I had been practically an invalid, spending most of this time in bed and eight months in a tuberculosis sanitarium. I was discharged from the sanitarium as an apparently arrested case, the most that doctors ever say of anyone who has had tuberculosis, and was told always to remember that I had tuberculosis and could never live a normal life.
I came home hoping to take up my household duties again, but found it impossible to do so. Every few weeks I would break down and have to go to bed for several days. About eight months after coming home I seemed to have a very bad cough and the doctor sent me to bed for an indefinite period. I took all kinds of medicine, but instead of improving I continually became worse, and after six weeks in bed was much discouraged. At this time Christian Science was brought to my attention by a friend.
It was on a Saturday that I first asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, and on Monday I got out of bed and started to do some of my housework. Within a very short time the cough had entirely disappeared, and I was able to do practically everything I needed to do. Since then I have lived a normal life in every way. There were a great many times when I was discouraged and the healing seemed to be very slow, but the difficulty finally yielded to the truth.
