Love Leadeth Me

O Love divine that leadeth me
O'er mountains high, through valleys deep,
No thought of fear my heart shall fill
While watch and ward Thy angels keep.

If paths of ease be mine to tread,
Or bruising stones bestrew the road,
Thou wilt make brighter each fair way,
Or help to bear the wearying load.

As ever on and upward turns
The path from darkness into light,
Thine is the ever present power
To guide each faltering step aright,

Until at last the summit's gained,
And Truth's calm sea shines 'neath the sun;
Then with a vision broad and clear
I look—and know my freedom won.
