My heart goes out in deep gratitude to God for the love and happiness He has brought into my life since I took up the study of Christian Science.

Seven years ago I attended a lecture on Christian Science, and although I felt it was all very beautiful, yet I did not think that I could be healed. I thought that what the doctors had failed to do no one else could possibly do; such was my faith in medical science. I was then an unhappy and discontented woman; and although our home needed the comfort of Christian Science, as it was full of misery and we had come to the end of our material means with continual doctors' bills, I still resisted this glorious truth until two years later, when I was a complete nervous wreck. Then I recognized that man's extremity is indeed God's opportunity, for I found myself ready and eager to take up the study of Christian Science. I knew then that it was the truth. It became clear to me that God is the creator of all good, and I saw that disease and the condition of misery around me was a lie, for God was not the author of it; that good and evil are opposites. From that moment everything completely changed. I saw God for the first time as Father-Mother, omnipresent, omnipotent, supreme.

Mrs. Eddy says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 6), "Divine Love corrects and governs man." Thus I saw the spiritual idea or Christ, the image and likeness of God, the reflection and expression of all that is good, perfect, and complete, possessing all divine qualities; and I became stronger, healthier, and happier.
