I wish to express my gratitude to Christian Science for...
I wish to express my gratitude to Christian Science for the healing of indigestion, from which I had suffered all my life. When I returned to civil life in 1919 it seemed as if my digestion were entirely ruined. I went to doctors and specialists; I tried medicines and treatments and diets, but nothing gave me any relief. Then I began to treat myself to a rigid system of starvation. I entirely cut out the evening meal whenever possible. I would go from lunch to breakfast with only a little bread and butter, and often with no food at all. There were many foods I never dared to eat. This continued until the spring of 1927, when I was advised to try Christian Science. I went to a practitioner. I saw him twice, and he gave me two absent treatments, and on the evening of the fifth day I went out to dinner and for the first time for over eight years did not have to suffer in consequence. From that day to this I have never had indigestion, and I can eat any kind of food.
Another phase of my trouble was that when I went away for a holiday, if only a few miles out of London, the change of air upset me to such an extent that I was ill for a week. I always spent the first week of my annual holiday in utter misery, living upon little else than bread, and shaken by a racking cough. Since receiving Christian Science treatment, I have been entirely free from this trouble.
I am in better health now than I ever was before. I am quite unable to express in words my gratitude to Christian Science.—F. Bernard Bentley, London, England.
