It is with deep gratitude to our loving Father-Mother God for the precious volume, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that I send this testimony.

I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, but in the darkest hour of my life I began reading the inspired pages in the hope of finding some comfort.

I asked my husband to borrow a copy of Science and Health from the Reading Room, and began to read at once. I started with the Preface and read every sentence thoughtfully. From the very first I felt the tenderness and love which breathes through the pages, and which steadily increased as I continued to read. I read for the greater part of three days. During this time I experienced two very severe weak spells. I had been subject to these for some years. The last one seemed to be worse than any I had previously experienced, and it looked as though I would never be able to rise again. However, I was soon able to resume my reading, and when I opened the book to continue where I had left off I read these words (p. 422): "If the reader of this book observes a great stir throughout his whole system, and certain moral and physical symptoms seem aggravated, these indications are favorable. Continue to read, and the book will become the physician, allaying the tremor which Truth often brings to error when destroying it." Continuing to read I felt strength fill my whole being, and the weakness entirely disappeared. I realized that I was in the "atmosphere of love divine;" and I remember saying mentally, I do not have to die, for God is here. I was conscious only of Love's presence, and of the peace and joy that come with that consciousness. Only those who have experienced this will know. I was healed of chronic tonsillitis and a very bad trouble in my head at this time. I saw clearly the truth concerning these, and the root being destroyed these diseases never appeared again.
