With a heart full of gratitude to God I want to express my thanks for what Christian Science has done for me. Six years ago I was led to attend a Christian Science church, and was so impressed by the happy faces there, the sense of peace throughout the service, and the testimonies I heard, that I felt convinced of the truth of Christian Science. A friend lent me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and after reading it for a short time I found myself completely healed of chronic indigestion and constipation, from which I had suffered for over twelve years. My husband, being a chemist, had given me every material remedy he could think of and I had been to several doctors; but I was steadily getting worse, until this wonderful truth came into my life and I saw that wrong thinking was the cause of all the discordant conditions, and that the Bible words meant literally what they said, that as a man "thinketh in his heart, so is he." As I honestly tried to think aright, harmony was manifested in my body. I very soon bought a copy of the textbook, for I found I could never again do without that wonderful "key" to the Scriptures which unlocks the spiritual truths contained in the Bible.

During these six years my family and I have had many physical healings, and never once has Christian Science failed, when properly applied. I have been healed, either with a practitioner's help or by my own understanding, of bronchitis, influenza, ulcerated mouth and throat, quinsy, burns, rheumatism, and a bad eruption of the skin on the neck and chest. Some of the healings were instantaneous, others took longer; but each time I had to realize there was nothing to heal but a false belief, and each healing brought increased understanding of our good Father-Mother God and of man in His image and likeness. Christian Science is teaching me to see the real spiritual man as God sees him, and so is enabling me to love my neighbor as myself. I am also learning that God, good, is our supply always, no matter what the material senses may tell us, and in spite of seemingly adverse conditions.

I should like to mention a healing that I had when I first started to read the periodicals. I was opening a window when it fell, catching my fingers so that I could not move. I was alone in the house, and it seemed as if I should faint with the pain, when suddenly I thought, Why, surely Christian Science can help me! I thought of what I had been reading, and immediately the pain disappeared. Although I was imprisoned in the window for nearly twenty minutes I did not suffer any more pain, and was able to serve lunch to my family, and go for a drive in less than an hour. My fingers were completely healed in three days, with no material remedy whatever.
