My gratitude for Christian Science is great because of the proofs it has given me of the all-power of divine Love. Having been sick for several years I decided to go to a hospital. The doctor told me that I must undergo an operation for what he thought was appendicitis. I gave myself up to die. Then he operated upon me and found that my intestines were diseased. He did not inform me of this; but he told one of my sisters to tell me there was no hope for me.

That same summer I met an aunt who spoke to me of Christian Science. She told me that she would write to a practitioner for me, and I consented at once. I felt as if I were no longer on earth; it seemed as though I were in heaven. I was immediately healed. I then read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had never read such a beautiful book. That was over eleven years ago, and now I am robust and in perfect health.

I am grateful for our Leader's writings, for the aid of practitioner who are so lovingly consecrating their lives to the healing of humanity, and for the lectures given by the members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, and which have been a great help to me in my passage from sense to Soul. I shall try to live in such a way as to prove the gratitude I feel for our Leader, who has unselfishly given this truth to the world.
