I had the privilege of attending a testimony meeting at a Christian Science church in London, the experience being most helpful. All had the same grateful testimony to give of the benefits received from Christian Science in their respective spheres of life.

I was particularly interested in the testimony given by one gentleman, who related how he came to the meeting thinking it was time he gave a testimony, but he did not feel that he had anything to say. During the meeting the thought came to him, If I have nothing to say I have nothing to be grateful for. He soon realized that he had a lot to be grateful to Christian Science for, and gave his testimony. This was interesting to me, as it took me back to another testimony meeting which I had attended about three years previously. I remembered how I went to that meeting without any intention of giving a testimony; in fact, at the time I thought I was in trouble, and Christian Science had failed to meet my immediate need. I was under a sense of inharmony and irritation with others in my daily affairs, which was manifested as a very unpleasant skin irritation. However, during the meeting my thoughts carried me back many years, to the time when I was becoming interested in Christian Science, attending services, testimony meetings, and lectures, and trying to apply its teachings for several serious conditions, namely, neurosis with very bad headaches and general unfitness, the result of service in the South African war. I looked back and remembered how, by the study and application of Christian Science, and change of thought, all those conditions had been steadily, but surely, overcome. When I realized what a great deal I had to be grateful for to Christian Science since my first attending services, I forgot all my present sense of trouble and gave my testimony.

Shortly after giving that testimony it was shown to me where I was wrong at the moment, and that the seeming trouble was the result of my own wrong thinking. By right thinking, and the application of the truth as taught in Christian Science, the condition was healed. I give this experience with gratitude and love, hoping it may be of some help and encouragement to others.—(Major) Robert Gardner, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.
