Words can never express my joy and gratitude for Christian Science...

Words can never express my joy and gratitude for Christian Science, for what it has done and is doing for the whole world. I should like to share with others the following experience.

One morning I had three letters to write. I wrote the first one quite all right, but on starting the next I found I could not see. I was quite alone, and cried out to God for help. The answer came that this condition must not be accepted as real, as nothing could hinder me from doing whatever it was right for me to do. I had some shopping to do and fear tried to tell me that it was unsafe to go out in such a condition; but turning again to God and refusing to listen to temptation, I started out, knowing that He was protecting all His children. As I went, the words of Mrs. Eddy came to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 586): "Eyes. Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental." The struggle was severe for about an hour and a half, but I was able to do my shopping without anyone noticing anything wrong. Then, quite suddenly, I realized that the battle was God's, not mine, and I became calm and filled with joy. Soon afterward my sight returned. I saw things clearly, and objects appeared more beautiful than before.

I feel deeply grateful for this experience of healing, and for many others, moral and physical. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and for being able to serve in a Christian Science Society; also for class instruction with a loyal teacher.—(Mrs.) Nellie Chapman, Redditch, Worcestershire, England.
