This testimony is written in love and gratitude to God, infinite good, and to Mary Baker Eddy for the wonderful healings and spiritual understanding gained through the study of her writings and the Bible. Her work "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" unlocks the spiritual meaning of the Bible, and as we grasp the truth about God and man we are able to heal the sick.

It was through prayer that Christian Science came to me. In the darkest hour of my life, after the physicians had told my husband that I could live but a short time, as one lung was gone and the other badly affected, I prayed to God, asking Him if there was anything higher and better to send it to me. Very soon after this a copy of Science and Health was given me by a distant relative. I had never heard of Christian Science, but was so hungry for it that I could not let the book alone, often reading until late in the night. As I continued to study and gain some understanding of this great Science, I was completely healed of the so-called incurable disease, and also of heart trouble.

These healings occurred many years ago, and I have remained well and strong since. Christian Science has been our only physician in rearing a family of seven children. During the greater part of this time we had no church or practitioners near us. We were forced to depend entirely on God, and He has never failed us. I have seen all manner of disease healed.
