The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Hermosa Beach, California (First Church).

Lecturer: William Duncan Kilpatrick; introduced by Mrs. Helen B. Goyne, who said:—

A Christian Science lecture is indeed a happy occasion, for it is through Christian Science that mankind is learning that salvation is not confined to the future, but is here and now; as Paul says, "Behold, now is the accepted time: behold, now is the day of salvation;" and his words are just as true to-day as when he wrote them to the Corinthians. When Christian Science was presented to me I was in a hospital, having undergone a very serious operation. My sister, who had been healed of a fibroid tumor by Christian Science, after the doctors had given her but two weeks to live, came to me and applied the truth she had learned to my case, with the result that I too was healed in just a few days.
