Eleven years ago Christian Science was presented to me through the medium of its literature, and for the first time in thirteen years a ray of joy and happiness came into my life. Up to this time the Bible had been a closed book to me, but in the light of Christian Science its pages were illumined; and in the proportion that I have consecrated my thought to God, good, in that proportion has its spiritual import been realized.

Since I was physically well, the healing element had no immediate appeal; in fact, I had little faith in the healing efficacy of Christian Science; but after three months' study and application of the truths contained in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of a bowel disorder of over twenty years' standing, and the tobacco habit was overcome shortly afterward. Attacks of blindness which had begun to manifest themselves about seven years previously, and which increased in intensity as time went on, gave me much to worry about, as the fear of becoming totally blind was deeply rooted. The healing of these took place about six months after my first glimpse of Christian Science. There were recurrences of the attacks at intervals, due principally to fear and doubt entering thought; but to-day I am grateful to say that through "radical reliance on Truth" (Science and Health, p. 167) this healing has been permanent. All these healings were brought about through self-consecration and without the aid of a practitioner. When the medical thought had been thoroughly eradicated from my consciousness, the practice of a branch of this profession was discontinued.

I awoke one morning with an ulcerated tooth. My face was very much swollen and the pain excruciating. The help of a practitioner was immediately asked for, and within twenty-four hours the entire condition vanished. To me this was a most wonderful proof of the power of Truth.
