On behalf of the Christian Science church, I wish to thank a certain doctor for the expression of his admiration of Christian Science; but there is, of course, no relation between Christian Science and the systems known as psychoanalysis and physical culture. Furthermore, "mistakes and narrowness" cannot properly be imputed to Christian Science, for its teachings follow the instruction of Christ Jesus with scrupulous fidelity.

The Master's life, character, and works were free from mistakes and narrowness. He loved mankind with universal broadness, but he neither excused evils nor trusted in material laws. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 138), "The supremacy of Spirit was the foundation on which Jesus built." He applied the truth unerringly to destroy physical and moral discords. His strictness in adhering to his spiritual standard was an important factor in the success of his mission. Mrs. Eddy discovered the ever available laws of divine Love employed by Christ Jesus, and named her discovery "Christian Science." The utilization of these spiritual laws through Christian Science, corrects mistakes and destroys narrowness in mankind, and implants compassion, honesty, accuracy, loving-kindness, reliability, temperance, and other Christlike qualities.
