In his answer to the question about Christian Science in the column of "Our Boys and Girls," several days ago, a professor assumed to speak on a subject with which he is evidently unfamiliar; for he quite misstated the facts as to the character of diseases which can be cured by Christian Science. To say that it cures only those illnesses which grow out of mental stress and strain, and not those commonly called germ diseases or those in which there is disintegration of tissue, is to misstate the facts about this great healing agency. In order to dispel any doubts on this point in the minds of your readers, I should state that impartial observers everywhere are attesting the fact that Christian Science does heal all types of diseases. I quote below two public acknowledgments of such healing:

Dr. Charles Hunter, associate professor of clinical medicine in the University of Manitoba: "Christian Science has helped many persons suffering from diseases, which to the medical practitioner had defied diagnosis. ... Christian Science, furthermore, has brought relief to individuals who were victims of organic disorder, proving that psychotherapy is not solely confined to functional diseases." Sir William Barrett, F. R. S., the eminent British physicist and investigator, in a book on Christian Science, has said: "I am bound to say that cures, often of a very remarkable character, are effected. ... The marvelous improvement in the general health of persons who have become adherents to this faith is unquestionable."
