A Psalm—Seeking God's Presence

O Lord , hear Thy servant!
Day and night he calleth to Thee that he may find Thee, for Thou
art ever present.
He searcheth for Thee in boundless space, for Thou art infinite.
His feet hasten to the shores of the sea: the roaring of the waves
and the rushing of the surge speak to him of Life divine.
His eyes glide over the wide firmament: sun, moon, and stars tell
him of Thy serenity, proclaiming divine Truth.
His thoughts stray over the glowing sands of the endless desert: the
weary pilgrim is revived by the shadow of the palm tree, by
the waters of the spring—Thou art Love.
Lord, Thy servant begins to sense Thy presence.
He is full of confidence and gladness, for he has found Thee.
O Lord, Thou art not afar off now from Thy servant.
