[Written for the Sentinel]

Along the Way

I can hear the angels singing
As I walk along the road,
Even though my steps are weary
And I bear a heavy load.

Sweet-toned words of cheer and comfort
As I lift my head I hear,
Coming to my inmost being,
Silencing all doubt and fear.

Then the road becomes less barren,
Flowers bloom beside the way;
As I stand to shift my burden,
Love has taken it away!
