The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Teplitz-Schonau, Czechoslovakia (Christian Science Community).

Lecturer: Prof. Hermann S. Hering; introduced by Anna Warniczek, who said:—

When Christian Science came into my life I was in a most desperate condition. Knowing nothing of God, and mentally confused, the world and existence had become appalling to me. Christian Science brought me new hope and courage, and I endeavored to imbibe more of the redeeming Christ, Truth; but the unfolding took place slowly. Although I had received many beautiful proofs of the protecting presence and power of truth, it was difficult for me to get an understanding of its divine Principle, and I had yet to go through deep waters of mortal sense. It was not until 1920 that, thanks to the loving solicitude of The Mother Church, I was fortunate enough to hear for the first time a Christian Science lecture in Germany. The subject was, "Christian Science, the Science of Redemption," and I was redeemed. The light of spiritual understanding shone forth, and I began to understand and apply the divine Principle of man; and since then my life has been richly blessed. The blessings of Christian Science did not come to me alone, but my relatives partlook them, too, in a very high degree. The words of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 206 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "whatever blesses one blesses all," were fulfilled.
