I have known of Christian Science for a number of years

I have known of Christian Science for a number of years. It healed me of a distressing stomach disorder after medical treatment had failed to give relief. While I was extremely happy over this healing, the subject of Christian Science attracted my attention only in a casual way. From time to time I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and attended the church services occasionally. Greater trails and tribulations presented themselves; still, I was only interested in a half-hearted way, in spite of the fact that each time my difficulties were wonderfully met with the loving help of Christian Science practitioners. Finally, my desire to know more about God was realized, and I began to awaken from the sense-dream and took up the subject of Christian Science whole-heartedly; for which I am more than thankful.

While attending a Christian Science lecture a few years ago I was instantaneously healed of the cigarette habit, which I had cherished for over twenty years. This healing was most convincing, proving conclusively, as it did, the unreality of a belief in a pleasure that was false. The social drink habit was also destroyed. This habit clung to me for some time, and yielded only after I had taken a decided stand not to fear what my friends and business associates might think. I am sincerely happy over this demonstration. A business condition (a change in employment) was wonderfully taken care of. I also wish to express my sincere gratitude that my daughter is having the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School.

It is needless to say that for all these blessings I am deeply greatful. However, I fully realize that my gratitude is only genuine when I not only seek, but strive, to know more about God and Christ Jesus, and grow in spiritual understanding with a desire to help my fellow-man. To our revered Leader, who made this understanding of God possible to mankind, we surely owe sincere homage.
