Religion meant very little to me about nine years ago,...
Religion meant very little to me about nine years ago, but since taking up the study of Christian Science I know that I could not live without this truth. A friend asked me to read "Science to Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, when I was being treated by a physician for nervousness in a severe form, which had seemed to grow steadily worse as time went on. I discontinued medical treatment, read this book, and started attending the church services regularly. With constant study and help from a patient practitioner I was healed. It was a slow healing, but during that period I learned much that has since been of great benefit to me. I have been constantly protected by God in many ways since turning to Christian Science.
I am grateful for membership in a branch church and The Mother Church and for all the activities of the Christian Science movement. I thank God for His goodness, and Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful gift to mankind. I am also grateful for the kindness of the practitioners and friends who have helped me along the way.—(Miss)Florence Louise Schumacher, New Orleans, Louisiana.
