There are no words with which to express adequately my gratitude for Christian Science. About a year ago I was knocked down by a tram car. As I lay in what seemed "the valley of the shadow" with wheels on either side of me, I repeated "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and did not lose consciousnes. I begged to be taken home, but as the ambulance arrived, I was rushed off to the hospital. Meanwhile, my wife got word and immediately telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help; consequently I had no pain, although my head was severely cut. The doctors said they would stitch it the next day, but the practitioner worked for me, realizing that Mind fills all space and adhesion and cohesion are qualities of Mind, with the result that the stitches were not taken, and to-day there is scarcely a mark. My back and shoulders were also very much injured. With the practitioner's loving help I was able in ten days to push a wheeled chair in front of me and walk round the ward, and in three weeks left the hospital, to the great astonishment of the officials there, as I was eighty years of age. They could not believe there were no internal injuries, although they put me under the X-ray three times. I am thankful to say my health is excellent.

I am grateful to God, to our dear Leader, and to the practitioner who so lovingly and patiently worked day and night to lead me out of the shadow into God's eternal sunshine.
