The Lectures

Los Angeles, California (joint lecture).

Lecturer: James G. Rowell; introduced by Vites E. Kagy, who said:—

I have found that gratitude is the quality of thought that has brought the most good to me. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," in the chapter on Prayer (p. 3): "Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more." I have found that when I have been grateful for the good I have received, more was quickly added. Gratitude has brought me health, peace, and prosperity. As Christian Scientists we are grateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who, through days and nights of toil and prayer, through storms of criticism and hate, pressed on, her faith in God undimmed, to give to mankind an understanding of Him through Christian Science.
