May I submit to your readers that Christian Science differs radically from the teachings mentioned [in a recent editorial, namely, pragmatism, intuitionism, spiritualism] upon this point, that its teaching is based upon the allness of God, Spirit; hence the nature of Christian Science is wholly spiritual, not material. Starting from this premise of the allness of God, Spirit, the conclusion is reached that God's universe must partake of His nature and be spiritual, consisting of spiritual ideas; that because man is made in the image and likeness of God (as the Bible declares), man must be and is spiritual. When one reasons from this basis of God, man, and the universe as wholly spiritual, it is found in Christian Science that the testimony of the material senses regarding man and the universe is false. The truth of this reasoning has been proved by thousands of well-authenticated cases of healing accomplished entirely through thinking and knowing the spiritual truth about God, man, and the universe as here briefly outlined. The Science of this healing method, which is founded entirely upon the Scriptures and the teachings of the master Christian, is explained in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
