I am indeed more than grateful to be able to recount a few of the many blessings which have come to me and mine with the hope that it may help someone who is struggling on the journey from sense to Soul. It is just over six years since this glorious truth was spoken to me by a loving neighbor, at which time I was seemingly on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The words which were spoken at the time of introducing this truth as revealed in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, came to me as a rope would come to a drowning man, for at that time the world seemed to me full of nothing but trouble and worry.
Science and Health was lent me and I read it every moment I had to spare, although for several weeks the meaning seemed difficult to grasp; yet I could not put it aside, for about the third week after commencing the study of this wonderful book, I realized that a physical trouble of the throat had disappeared, together with the drink habit and the use of bad language. With the disappearance of these evils I was determined to dig farther into this beautiful book, although it seemed difficult to understand. The nervous breakdown yielded very slowly, but this made me keener to seek and learn of this glorious truth; and now I am grateful to say that the disease simply faded away as does the morning mist before the glorious sunshine. The sense of lack has also been met with the realization that lack is only false mental sense, and as we are willing to let our consciousness be filled with the thought that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494) we see and understand that our supply is divinely given.
For these and other healings of fear, mental worry, jealousy, temper, as well as of influenza and several other physical ailments, my family and I have received, I give gratitude to our heavenly Father, to our Saviour, Christ Jesus, to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to all the loving and patient practitioners and friends who have helped me on this road from sense to Soul. I give this testimony with the earnest desire to live and practice more of this truth.—George Thomas Ellingworth, Sleaford, Lincolnshire, England.
