I wish to express my gratitude for the help Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for the help Christian Science has been to me the last seven or eight years. When I first commenced reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of defective eyesight; and I also gained the understanding that there is an ever present God to help us in time of trouble. I am most grateful for this, as it seemed so wonderful at the time to realize God's protection and guidance, apart from any sense of human will and planning.

I have had many proofs of divine Love's power and guidance since; and however difficult the problem, I have always felt certain that it would be solved harmoniously, and that all concerned in it would be benefited. I should like to tell of a demonstration I had during childbirth. The babe was born practically without pain and almost instantaneously. There was not one discordant condition before or after the birth. I was able to do all my own work until the last few weeks, attending to my home and three other children, and, besides, was able at times to give help to others. I know that it was having full faith in the power of Truth and applying it in my daily work that enabled me to carry on without feeling any depletion of strength. For a time it appeared as if I would be without the help that would be needed for the birth, and a slight feeling of anxiety tried to manifest itself, but I went to the Bible and opened it at a verse in Isaiah, part of which reads, "I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." It was such a wonderful message that I needed no more assurance; so I left it all in God's hands. When baby was born I was alone by myself as far as human aid was concerned, but the right help came just afterwards to do what was necessary. I felt very well and happy, and was well enough to get up and go about my usual duties, but had the opportunity to take two weeks after the birth for study.

I feel most grateful for the understanding I am gaining of Christian Science, and deeply grateful for the loving support and help I received from the practitioner whose aid I had. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
