The law of God, as expressed in Christian Science, has...
The law of God, as expressed in Christian Science, has guided me gently and lovingly out of the most despondent and hopeless fog of materialism into the garden of Love's sunshine. Words could not express my joy in this journey, or the wonderful peace I feel when I realize that never again need I be in bondage to the old cruel material beliefs.
The past few years have brought many proofs of God's loving presence in the healing of colds, coughs, a severe case of measles, and the problem of supply, sometimes through my own right thinking and sometimes with the help of a loving practitioner. I never cease to be grateful for all our faithful practitioners everywhere; and it is a joy that one of them is a very dear friend, whose loving, unselfish service is a constant source of inspiration and help.
The oculist who fitted the lenses of my glasses said it would be impossible for me to see without them; but God knows no such law, and I am most grateful to say that I have not worn glasses for over a year and that I can see perfectly. At one time, when my baby was a year and a half old, she fell while I was in another room. When I ran to her and picked her up there was much blood on the floor and her mouth appeared to be swollen. My thought clung to the truth about God and His children. Many statements from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, came to me, and the bleeding stopped immediately. She played happily the rest of the day and ate her evening meal. When feeding her I saw that her tongue was severely cut and was sagging in her mouth. She slept quietly all through the night and I was most grateful to be able to spend several hours reading our textbook. The second day the tongue was perfectly knit together and we made a visit we had planned to her grandparents. They were not aware of any unusual condition. A slight scar on the tongue was all that was evident. In a month that, too, had gone. I am grateful for thus having experienced the tender, loving care of our Father-Mother God.
