Before studying Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I was a slave to many of the seeming material beliefs, especially fear. I spent a great part of my life lying down; and if I attempted to walk, I always suffered terribly afterwards. I had tried every possible medicine and medical aid, but all were of no avail; and year by year I felt myself more and more in the grasp of man-made laws, not knowing how to free myself, because I did not understand the law of God. It was at this point a copy of Science and Health was bought and I started my study. In three weeks I was healed and walking about painlessly; and I have never since resorted to medical aid. The healing had taken place simply through reading Science and Health. It was such a joy to be able to take up my duties of wife and mother, which for years had been so sadly neglected.

After this wonderful transformation—it was indeed, as the Bible says, being "transformed by the renewing of your mind"—a neighbor met me and remarked, "What new doctor have you tried now?" I told her of the one and only Physician, "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." I feel I can never be grateful enough for the truth our dear Leader has brought to me and to all mankind, and my joy henceforth is to see the truth spreading ever more and more in the consciousness of those around us.
