In the year 1913 I fractured and dislocated my arm. During the time I was under a physician's care the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was given me to read. I did not seem to gain anything from the reading, but I have realized since that "Truth has a healing effect, even when not fully understood" (p. 152). The physician said the arm would always give me trouble; but, contrary to that belief, I have never had any discomfort from it. The study of Christian Science went on from that time, and the use of all material remedies was dropped. There have been many proofs during these years of God's ever present help in trouble.

One summer I fell down about half a flight of stairs. As I was stunned for a little while and unable to arise, the first thought that came was to have a practitioner do some work for me. I managed to get to the telephone and asked for help, which was lovingly given, and the healing took place quickly.

About two years ago I passed through a very uncomfortable period because of abscesses. Many declarations of the truth were made, yet the abscesses seemed to present themselves for quite a time. An opportunity came to speak to a practitioner, whom I met on a train while returning from a trip, and through her clear perception she was enabled to uncover in my thinking an error I had been holding for several years. Needless to say, the healing soon took place.
