Among the Churches
Current Notes
Port Chester, New York (First Church).—The first two services held in the new building of First Church of Christ, Scientist, on Irving Avenue, attracted large congregations. The Sunday school unit of the church plant is the one being used at present for worship. When the membership of the church makes the erection of the main edifice necessary, the building committee will start work. The building is designed on the style of the early New England meeting house. The interior is a replica of a New England meeting house interior. The furnishings and fixtures carry out the style. The lights are in the form of old oil lamps. All fixtures are of wrought iron. The building is one of the most beautiful of its kind in this section.
