Many blessings have come to our home through the application of Christian Science. I am especially grateful for one of my early healings. At that time, when I knew very little of Christian Science, I had a severe case of blood poisoning in my arm. A physician was called, and pronounced the case to be a very bad one. He told me to be ready by morning to go to the hospital and have the arm amputated. As soon as the physician had gone, I was ready to turn to God; and a Christian Science practitioner was called. I slept all that night, something I had not been able to do for a week, and the next morning the swelling had gone down so that my arm was almost normal. At the end of three weeks I was completely healed.

I know that for these and many other healings, for joy and beauty in life, for all manner of good, I owe a debt of gratitude to Christian Science; to its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy; and to all who in practice, in testimony, and in helpful words have helped to give me understanding. I make this acknowledgment, knowing that words alone are insufficient to express the gratitude which must be wrought out in the demonstration of the truth.
