I have so much for which to be grateful, covering every phase in my human experience, that it would take many testimonies to tell of all the blessings and healings I have received.

When Christian Science was first brought to my attention, my life hung by a thread. The doctors, of whom I had three for over three years, could do nothing for me. One of these, recently come from Europe and a specialist in diagnosis, pronounced my case acute melancholia, together with chronic stomach trouble and a severe case of nervous prostration, telling me this was due to great grief and disappointment. He also gave me the advice that there was nothing in the whole world worth while for me to grieve so over. It was at this time that I was blessed with the privilege of reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and I began to be born anew.

Since studying Christian Science I have had occasion to ponder the final words of those well-meaning doctors, though at the time they meant nothing to me. The grief I had was over no particular loss or sorrow, nor did I consider my condition as grief at the time; it was because of my disappointment at the utter failure of the ways of the world to bring about and fulfill my hopes and desires for the good and the beautiful, or to bring true happiness, which I loved and desired, but which I found could not be realized because of the evil ways of thinking of this material world. I had always had high ideals, and at last they were realized in finding the one and only ideal through Christian Science, which revealed to me the true man, the image and likeness of God.
