I should like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for Christian Science and the wonderful protection we experienced through its applied teachings during the hurricane in Florida. Our house was blown off the underpinning, three feet to the west. The porch landed on the running board of our car, pinning it down, but doing little damage to either. There were only two water glasses broken in the transition, and no windows.

Repeatedly I could hear as a voice, "And God was not in the storm, but after the storm the 'still small voice.' " The voice continued days after the storm, when the medical authorities were applying vaccines to prevent typhoid, which they much feared. But after the storm came the "still small voice"—not typhoid.

During the height of the storm, water was running through the streets almost waist deep; it was about five inches deep all over our floors, and we could see that it was still rising. Then came the word: "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters." There was no fear expressed by either my husband or myself. Once I asked him if he thought we should go somewhere else, and he replied, "No." Then I said, "All right, we will stay right here and see the salvation of the Lord."
