A recent issue of your paper contains an article by Harald Beyer, "A New Book about Soren Kierkegaard." Here Christian Science is mentioned as being based on "vague thoughts;" and I must ask space for a correction as to this statement. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in the Preface to her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii): "The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity." Christian Science is not built on vague thoughts. It does not set forth anything that cannot be proved. It attaches more weight to works than to words. It is the Science of Truth and is built on the truth taught and proved by Jesus in the healing of sin and sickness. It reveals the Principle of his healings. All over the world the number of those who have demonstrated the truth of Christian Science, through deliverance from human suffering of every sort, is rapidly increasing. Christian Science logically prophesies universal deliverance from sin and sickness.
