I should like to testify to the wonderful healing power of Christian Science, as taught in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. As far back as I can remember as a child, I was always sickly and lived in dread of myself.

I received my first healing in Christian Science about fifteen years ago, at the time I was suffering from what was called influenza. Knowing little about Christian Science, and being alone, I decided to give it a trial, but did not know how the healing was done. I went to a practitioner and told her I had come for help, but knew nothing about the healing. She invited me into her office, and after a little talk a treatment was given; after which I was told to go to my work, and I did so. A few hours afterwards I received such an uplift that I knew I was healed! I continued treatment for several days, and with these treatments was freed from using medicines, tonics, and such like, to which I had been a slave for years. This was very wonderful to me, as I had spent much money on the various kinds recommended.

These healings led me to learn more of this truth. I became a member of a Christian Science church, and took an active part in the work, always enjoying any office which was given me. As years go by I am getting a little better understanding of this living truth, as revealed to us through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook. Many healings have come to me through reading Science and Health. I am grateful to our practitioners, who always receive us with words of comfort and assurance that God, good, is ever with us; and I have received instantaneous healings through absent treatment, another proof that God is not just in one place but is everywhere. The twenty-third psalm, as interpreted in Science and Health (p. 578), has been very helpful to me. My desire is to get a better understanding, that I may be able to hand a cup of cold water in Christ's name to some wanderer seeking health as I did. This is only a small expression of gratitude for the loving help I have received. The many wonderful healings that have come to my family can hardly be expressed in words. I am indeed grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world this wonderful truth.
