[Original testimony in German]
About four years ago I was taken ill with a very bad knee
About four years ago I was taken ill with a very bad knee. It was very much swollen, and I suffered severe pain. The physician whom I consulted advised me to go to the hospital the same day to undergo an operation, and then to have the leg placed in an orthopedic bandage for a few days, as he felt there was no other way of helping me, and I should most certainly lose my leg if I did not take his advice. In spite of this I decided to put my whole confidence in God, and asked for Christian Science treatment. I suffered pain a little longer, but in three days the knee opened and discharged. After that I was able to get up without any bad effects. I was healed of erysipelas in a very short time through Christian Science.
One day my husband was attacked with severe pains in his joints and felt very ill. The sick-fund physician whom we were forced to consult diagnosed the difficulty as articular rheumatism, and told me that my husband was very ill. Again we asked for Christian Science treatment and relied upon God as our only physician. To our great joy the pain decreased immediately; my husband was able to go out after three days; and in one week the physician, to his surprise, was able to pronounce him well and fit for work.
I am sincerely grateful to God for all the blessings I have received, and especially grateful that I have found the right way in Christian Science.—(Mrs.) HELENE BARTEL, Schweidnitz, Silesia, Germany.
