Forward, Christian Scientists!

With each clearer awakening of our thought to the divine purpose of Christian Science, we become more humbly grateful to its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, for her selfless labor for mankind. What deep cause there is for rejoicing that we now are on the threshold of the realization of another of our beloved Leader's cherished desires through the establishment of The Christian Science Pleasant View Home! There, after long years of faithful service for our Cause, loyal Christian Scientists may continue to manifest activity amid peaceful surroundings.

Paul, in concluding his epistle to the Romans, told them that the Macedonians and Achaians were sending him as a missionary to Jerusalem, because the Gentiles desired to contribute to the human needs of those who had helped them to understand the substance of Spirit. As he expressed it, "For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things."

Later, in his second epistle to the Corinthians, Paul wrote of the liberal distribution to those in need, and of the many thanksgivings to God caused through this reflection of loving-kindness. These two chapters are overflowing with Paul's expression of what the demonstration of bountifulness means to mankind. In like manner, we Christian Scientists of to-day are given the opportunity to extend our helping hands to tried and true soldiers of the cross who may be in need.
