Eleven years ago I turned to Christian Science for physical healing after spending from three to four years in search of relief through materia medica, electricity, osteopathy; and, lastly, I was under a chiropractic. My difficulty was finally pronounced by a noted diagnostician as misplaced vertebrae of the spine. He told me he could recommend nothing for me, but said I might expect to be well when the good Lord saw fit to make me so!
But I had only to learn in Christian Science that instead of waiting for God to make me well, I could know that as His image and likeness man was never anything else than well. This I was lovingly helped to do by a faithful practitioner of Christian Science, who encouraged me to look away from matter and find the reality of being in divine Mind. I am so grateful that when turning to Christian Science I was given by the one who helped me a working basis, which brought me immediate courage and relief, although the complete healing was not realized until some months later. I was shown that it was not through personality or any supernatural power that healing was brought about, but through a calm faith in such Bible statements as "God is love."
I am more grateful than words can express for this truth, which is my daily help, supplying the wisdom to meet every problem; also for the periodicals and all the other activities of the Christian Science church; and for the great privilege of class instruction. I am grateful for all this to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
