I wish to express my gratitude for the healing of my youngest son which took place in 1922. The little one was born with enlarged glands, which caused a bad rattle in his breathing. Besides this, his stomach did not retain food. He grew weaker from day to day, and the physician told us he was in great danger. We took him to a home for infants so that a patent food could be tested for him. I knew of Christian Science at the time, but my husband was not interested in this teaching in the least; so we followed the doctor's advice and took the child to the home. The physicians did all they could for the little one. During this time I read a great deal in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and held constantly to the thought that nothing could happen to a child of God, and that the little one would certainly recover. The result was that the child did not get worse and remained alive; but no sign of improvement was perceptible. In the meantime five months had passed, and the child still weighed only six pounds, the same as when born. The physicians were puzzled, and in my consciousness, too, thoughts of fear began to arise.

Then in my greatest extremity I turned to a Christian Science practitioner and asked her for help, which was lovingly given. She made it clear to me that we cannot serve two masters, and said that I must take the child out of its surroundings, if he were to get well. In spite of the professor's strong opposition I gained my husband's permission to take the child home. Full of confidence I took my stand with my child on God's side, under His protection and love, disregarded all the precautions the professor had impressed upon me, and treated the child just as if he were perfectly well. I gave him unskimmed milk, and as much of it as he wanted. And how overjoyed I was when at the end of a week I was able to ascertain that the little one had gained over half a pound! And thus he continued to improve, until he was perfectly normal. The enlargement of the glands had also completely disappeared, and he is now a picture of perfect health.

I am sincerely grateful to God for having led me to Christian Science, and for the many blessings and healings which have come to me through this teaching. I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has again shown us the way to Truth.
