[Written for the Sentinel]

A Tribute to Mary Baker Eddy

Thou great affirmer, sent of God,
With healing balm for pain,
Fit vessel thou, to bear His Word,
That cleanseth every stain.

Interpreter of Love and Truth,
Unfaltering in our need,
Compassionate with tender ruth,
Our yearning souls dost feed.

Inspired doer of His will,
Thy only strength is Love.
Engirt with this, thou dost fulfill
Thy mission from above.

Blest bearer of the golden key*
That leads from vales of night,
Through halls where 'bides no mystery,
To love's supernal height.

Instructor, counselor, and friend,
Our gratitude is thine,
And love, a love that knows no end,
Love lost in Love divine.
