Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can...
"Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it 'every whit whole.'" I am well acquainted with this sentence on page 371 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and desire to bear grateful testimony to the truth of our Leader's words. From my experience during fourteen years, I am indeed convinced that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus in the fourteenth chapter of John's Gospel.
Chronic nervousness and a morbid sense of self-consciousness and fear, a mental state which made life among my fellow-men difficult, to say the least, has been entirely eradicated. The looming shadows of evil have been replaced with a happy conviction that Life is God and God is infinite good. Catarrh of the throat and nose, of long standing, constipation, broken bones, tonsillitis, and colds are among the disorders which have vanished as a result of the study and application of Christian Science and the effort to live it. The desire and tendency to use profane and immoral language have also been healed.
While I am deeply grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our revered Leader for these healings, my deepest gratitude must always be for the regeneration, the purification of consciousness, which enables one to reflect Love, and to love one's neighbor as one's self.
