In a recent contribution to your paper appear some statements regarding Christian Science that are not in accord with the facts. The critically inclined should be able to voice disagreement with the religious teachings and practices of others respectfully, with no desire whatever to give offense, and without recourse to misrepresentation and disparagement, as is the case in the contribution under discussion. To those who comprehend Christian Science in the least, it is plain that as between its purely spiritual ministrations and all forms of erroneous mental practice, such as mesmerism, suggestion, hypnotism, occultism, demonology, there is no agreement whatever. Indeed, Christian Science specifically and definitely names all such practices as dangerous and harmful.

Christian Science has won its way in the world solely through the good it has accomplished; through the spiritual healing of the mentally, morally, and physically sick; all these beneficent results being achieved through the "prayer of faith," which the Apostle James assures us will not only bring about the salvation of the sinner, but will "save the sick" as well. As the accomplishments of Christian Science are Christlike in basis and character, and have Scriptural sanction and authority, the question might reasonably be asked: For which of these works would our critics stone us?
