With a grateful heart I wish to give the following testimony concerning the wonderful experiences which have come to me through the application of Christian Science.

More than ten years ago I was taken ill with gallstones, often having several attacks in a week, accompanied with almost unbearable pain. Although I consulted various physicians, took all the medicine they prescribed, and observed a strict diet, my condition did not improve at all; so that my last recourse was to go to a hospital. After three days' observation in the hospital I was given to understand that only an operation could save me. But I could not consent to this and, without experiencing any relief, went home very depressed.

I always read a great deal in the Bible, and attended church, being an earnest adherent of a Protestant church; but error tried to govern me more and more. When I had arrived at the end of all material help and remedies, I found the following sentence: "I am the Lord that healeth thee." This gave me new courage, and shortly afterwards I heard of Christian Science.
